I'd like to give a quick shout-out to Mike Peterson at Daily Cartoonist for citing Saturday's post of cartoons from Labor Day, 1926. He's got a bunch of Labor Day, 2026 cartoons at today's Comic Strip of the Day.
There's a lot of worry there about AI stealing everybody's jobs, so here's an even older cartoon imagining the fully automated 21st Century:
