The Ron Desantis campaign retweeted a bizarre video last week that basically accused Donald Trump of being pro-gay.
Juxtaposing that one photo of Trump holding up a pride flag (upside-down) at a 2016 campaign rally with shots of DeSantis and hypermasculine memes of GigaChad, an oiled-up body-builder, Brad Pitt, and Christian Bale (Politico decodes what they all mean), DeSantis's account has since taken the video down, supposedly because of a music copyright violation.
Appealing to Trump loyalists in their bizarro upside-down universe, in which facts don't matter, ignorance is wisdom, divisiveness brings the country together, and second place wins elections, is surely a daunting task.
DeSantis is polling well behind Trump among Republican voters, so he has worked hard to demonstrate that he's the bigger asshole... because that's what they admire most about Trump. See how proudly DeSantis hates gays, transgenders, immigrants, books, higher education, New York, Massachusetts, California, and NBC? He's an intolerant bully with the social skills of a rabid possum, just like you!
